Faith In Strangers Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our website, attend our events, dine with us, or use our services.

What we collect

Name, email address, and phone number — when you create an account, make a reservation, purchase tickets, or submit an enquiry.
Payment information — processed securely by Stripe (payments) and Shopify (ticket purchases). We do not store card details.
Browsing data — pages visited, device type, IP address (anonymised), referral source. Collected via Google Analytics and Meta Pixel (with consent).
Marketing preferences — email subscription status and engagement data, managed via Resend.
Event attendance data — ticket scans, guest list check-ins, and booking history.
Dietary requirements and special requests — provided during reservations or event bookings.

How we use your data

To process ticket purchases, reservations, and private hire enquiries.
To send transactional emails (order confirmations, event reminders, booking updates).
To send marketing communications (newsletters, event announcements) — only with your explicit consent.
To improve our website, services, and event programming through analytics.
To comply with legal obligations (e.g. licensing, financial records).

Third-party services

Shopify — ticket sales and order processing.
Stripe — secure payment processing for memberships, deposits, and card-on-file. We do not store card numbers; Stripe handles all card data.
Adyen — in-venue card terminal payment processing. Card data is encrypted at the terminal and never passes through our servers.
Resend — email delivery and automated communications.
Google Analytics (GA4) — anonymised website analytics.
Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — advertising pixel (with consent).

Data retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by law. Account data is retained until you request deletion. Marketing data is retained until you unsubscribe. Financial records are retained for 7 years as required by HMRC.

Your rights

Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
Erasure — request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
Objection — object to processing of your data for marketing purposes.
Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.

Our app

When you use the Faith In Strangers app we keep the same account you have on our website. You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a six-digit code we send on WhatsApp (sent through Meta's WhatsApp Business service) or by email. We ask for your mobile number so your tickets and the door team can reach you; you can add or change it in Account.
The app keeps your name, email address and mobile number; your dietary needs and allergies, only if you choose to tell us; photos and tracks you upload (your profile picture, Work.Club profile and Poseidon Sound Club posts), which other members can see; messages you send other Work.Club members; the name and email or mobile of a guest you invite or a friend you pass a ticket to; your tickets, membership and Faith Credit; and the date you last opened the app, which our team can see on your record. If you turn on notifications we keep your phone's notification token so we can send them. Card details are entered only on Stripe's secure form, never kept by us.
The app is run with Supabase (our database and sign-in), Stripe (payments), Meta (WhatsApp codes), Resend (email), Apple and Google (sign-in and notifications) and Expo (delivering app updates). Each handles your data only to provide that service.
To delete your account, go to Account, then Delete my account. We stop your sign-in and cancel your memberships straight away, remove your personal details within 30 days and email you when it's done. Tickets and receipts we must keep by law are kept without your name.

Arriving at the building

If you are a Friends of Faith or Work.Club member and you badge in at our door with a card or your phone, our building system looks up your name so it can welcome you in the lobby, and records when you came in. If you are a Work.Club member and you connect to our Wi-Fi, we note that you are in so other Work.Club members can see who is around; you can turn that off in the app under Work.Club. If you sign in to our guest Wi-Fi we keep the email address you give us. We keep these arrival records for 12 months and use them only to run the building and your membership.

Advertising

If you have bought from us or signed up to our newsletter, we may share your email address and mobile number with Meta and Google in a coded (hashed) form, so we can show our own events to you, or to people like you, on their platforms. We never do this for anyone who uses our app, and never for anyone who has opted out of marketing. To stop it, unsubscribe from our emails or email hello@faithinstrangers.co.uk.
