Zero 7 Presents: SWIMSUR­RE­AL (DJ SET)

We have some­thing very spe­cial hap­pen­ing this Sum­mer Sol­stice, which also hap­pens to be kick­ing off the LOWMAR­GATE Music & Wine Week­ender on the 21^st of June!

Zero 7’s new project SWIMSUR­RE­AL and their debut album ​‘In The Half Light’ is released on the 21^st June, they will also be dig­ging out some of their favourite records for two spe­cial DJ sets — one per­fect­ly timed to the sun­set (from 8pm) which cel­e­brates their new album and then a sec­ond Club DJ set lat­er on.

Zero 7’s debut album Sim­ple Things was nom­i­nat­ed for a Mer­cury Music Prize and sold over 2.5 mil­lion copies world­wide. Over the ensu­ing eight years, they record­ed a fur­ther three albums, includ­ing Gram­my Nom­i­nat­ed The Gar­den. More recent­ly, they have released a series of sin­gles and EPs on their own Make Records imprint fea­tur­ing artists includ­ing José Gonzáles, Jem Cooke and Lou Stone.

Local tal­ent Ben Sun (see how we curat­ed?!) will be on the sup­port! A Mar­gate-based artist fus­ing ana­log fre­quen­cies and crushed sam­ples to cre­ate vivid, atmos­pher­ic dance music. Fre­quent­ly explor­ing ambi­ent and pop ten­den­cies. Recent EPs for Lon­don’s Phon­i­ca Records and NYC’s Razor-N-Tape earned him praise from lumi­nar­ies like Lau­rent Gar­nier, Glenn Under­ground and Osun­lade, as well as main­stay selec­tors such as Cinthie, Mid­land and Greg Wilson.
