Sat­ur­day 24^th April- David Scopes joins us on the decks for an all night long spe­cial. Grab some food before­hand- and dance into the evening 🍷

After spend­ing sev­er­al years hon­ing his craft and refin­ing his iden­ti­ty as a musi­cian, Lon­don-based David Scopes is primed and ready to make his mark on the elec­tron­ic music com­mu­ni­ty beyond his British origins.

Sparked by his mum’s selec­tion of dis­co, funk and soul records, David’s musi­cal pur­suits even­tu­al­ly com­pelled him to dab­ble in mix­ing and pro­duc­ing, and he was soon immersed in the Lon­don under­ground work­ing var­i­ous jobs, learn­ing from oth­ers, and ulti­mate­ly pay­ing his dues.

2014 proved to be a turn­ing point for David as he signed with Junc­tion Records, an Ams­ter­dam-based imprint run by Math­ieu Car­sique (aka Cool Tiger) that aspires to sub­vert the lin­ear, loop-dri­ven qual­i­ties of your stan­dard dance music fare. David’s out­put as an artist, now under­pinned by Junction’s ethos, began to con­verge on a dark­er, and slight­ly chaot­ic point of view: build­ing a bridge between the time­less jun­gle and break­beat char­ac­ter­is­tic of 90s U.K. raves with the relent­less, indus­tri­al-lean­ing Berlin­er and Parisian tech­no of today.

These same ideas have not only per­me­at­ed David’s approach to DJing, they are also ele­vat­ed through his thought­ful selec­tions and pre­cise mix­ing — all while rel­ish­ing the oppor­tu­ni­ty to chal­lenge his audi­ences, keep­ing a hand­ful of obscure gems in his back pock­et for when the right moment presents itself.
